Job Summary:
As a material handler you will be responsible for the timely movement of all materials within your designated location and tracking the movement within the computerized systems to ensure proper tracking and inventory.
Job Duties:
Operate a forklift to move raw materials packaging finished product and other materials from one location to another.
Use a computer and company systems to track all material movement transactions both incoming and outgoing.
Observe all GMP Food Safety and Employee Safety requirements.
Load 53 foot trailers with a lift truck
Shipping and receiving of products and materials
Log incoming material and outgoing pallets into computer system
Recognize shortages of materials in the system and order materials for next shift
Follow detailed processes for assigned work to ensure proper completion.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be able to understand both written and verbal instructions in English.
Skills/Qualifications:
Prior experience forklift/material handling experience in a manufacturing environment
Previous experience working in the food industry is a plus
Must be able to measure and understand tare weight.
Strong attention to detail
Mechanical aptitude
Computer skills
Basic Math skills
Competency with weights and measures
Physical Requirements:
Must be able lift up to 40 lbs.
Must be able to repeatedly get on and off of a forklift safely.
Must be able to work 8 hours per day and be on his/her feet for extended periods of time.
Must be able to work in cold temperature environments when wearing proper attire.
