Introduction
Delawares Division of Fish and Wildlife (DFW) is responsible for managing and conserving the quality and diversity of Delawares wildlife and publicly owned wildlife habitat. The Delaware DFW waterfowl and migratory gamebird program manages the ducks geese swans doves and other migratory gamebirds of Delaware. This is accomplished by monitoring harvest collecting biological data collaborative efforts such as annual banding and telemetry research and representing Delawares wildlife interests by interacting in science-based forums with other neighboring states as part of the Atlantic Flyway Technical Section.
Summary Statement
This seasonal research assistant position with Delawares Species Conservation and Research Program will assist the State Waterfowl Biologist with waterfowl and migratory gamebird projects while working at the direction of the program associated Bio Aide IV. This position is year-round and no housing will be provided. The job responsibilities include but are not limited to conducting surveys for gamebirds conducting trapping banding identifying and marking live animals and entering data into Excel and Access databases. Assistance with other projects will also be required occasionally (e.g. deer turkey and non-game birds).

- Provides technical support in studies surveys inspections and research projects.
- Collects field samples and data.
- Provides technical information and assistance to the public and the regulated community.
- Interprets rules and regulations for assigned area.
- Reviews permit applications and supplemental paperwork for approval or recommendation for disapproval.
- Operates and maintains vehicles boats and sampling equipment.
- Maintains accurate records and prepares reports.
- May assist in processing biological samples.
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Environmental Control Technician II
Applicants must have education training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
- Six months experience in conducting field work to collect samples and survey data.
- Six months experience in math such as addition subtraction multiplication division percentages or decimals.
- Six months experience in applying laws rules regulations standards policies and procedures.
- Six months experience in narrative report writing.
- Knowledge ofusing an automated information system to enter update modify delete retrieve/inquire and report on data.
- Possession of a valid Drivers License (not suspended revoked or cancelled or disqualified from driving).
