As our Sterile Processing Supervisor at St. Vincent Infirmary you will support our surgical and hospital teams by overseeing the decontamination sterilization and preparation of all surgical instruments and supplies so that every patient receives safe efficient care.
Every day youll lead and coordinate Sterile Processing Department (SPD) operations ensuring 24/7 coverage and smooth execution of high-priority tasks. Youll work closely with internal departments and surgery schedules to proactively manage resources and support exceptional patient outcomes.
To be successful in this role you must have a strong understanding of sterile processing workflows a leadership mindset and the ability to inspire and support a collaborative team.
Supervise and coordinate SPD staff across all shifts including scheduling training and performance monitoring.
Ensure instruments implants and supplies are processed restocked and delivered accurately and on time.
Collaborate with surgical services and nursing to meet departmental needs based on case schedules.
Support infection control protocols and equipment tracking procedures.
Promote a culture of safety continuous improvement and accountability.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a sterile processing department.
2 years of supervisory experience in SPD or related field.
Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Supervisor (CSPDS) required upon hire.
