Coordinator Youth Policy Program

Full-Time 2-Year Contract

Hybrid; Located in Lower Mainland

Expected Start Date: Immediately or 2-3 weeks after offer has been accepted.

Accessibility

Vancouver Foundations office is located on the second and third floors of a building with an elevator for access to the office and an accessible single-stall gender-neutral washroom that includes a shower. Vancouver Foundation has a hybrid working model with both work from home and in-office options available to staff. These options are position dependent.

About the Position

The Coordinator Youth Policy Program (YPP) position will support the overall work of the Community & Culture team. In particular this role will support the Grants & Community Initiatives (GCI) department to deliver YPP to advance racial justice. The Coordinator will execute all administration and planning from beginning to end for each YPP cohort. This position requires both specialist and generalist skills with excellent attention to detail while understanding the higher strategic goals and impacts of the department. This role supports Vancouver Foundations commitment to centering racialized youth voices in public policy and sector transformation.

Main Responsibilities

Youth Policy Program (YPP)

Coordinates and facilitates application process (inquires and online support)

Receive review assess and organize applications

Coordinates convening of selection committee communications logistics learning opportunities and technical support as required

Coordinates all module and alumni engagement activities

Organizes all program-related planning including logistics catering flights/accommodations and vendor management as needed

Administration and Engagement

Receives internal and external inquires related to YPPs work and redirects and/or corresponds directly as appropriate.

Manages YPP admin inbox and calendar

Works with Finance as necessary to support expense submissions payments and reporting

Updates YPP website content as required in collaboration with Communications

Supports the Engagement team with community listening by capturing and maintaining records and logs to ensure the needs of racialized communities are centered in our efforts to advance racial justice within the sector and through our program

Produces written and verbal presentations to Advisory and Board Committees Donors fund holders and community stakeholders in collaboration with Manager

Desired Experience/Education/Skills

Education/Experience

Minimum two years experience in Not-for-profit and/or social purpose organization in a paid or volunteer capacity

Experience in anti-oppression decolonization anti-racism feminist theory rights-based frameworks etc.

Experience in providing coordination and administrative support for major projects programs or events

Experience in complex environments that demand priority-setting and balancing competing interests and needs

Demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities at various levels (from grassroots organizations to government ministries)

Experience with youth is preferred

Skills/Attributes

A quick learner with a natural curiosity and desire to ask questions

Strong organizational and time management skills

Comfort with using social media (Facebook Twitter Tik Tok and Instagram)

Strong technical skills include the ability to use a range of software applications

Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required.

Some travel may be required.

Accountability

Reporting to Senior Manager Youth Policy Program

Salary

$67100 annually plus pension and a generous and comprehensive benefits package.

Hours of Work

35-hour work week Monday Friday primarily Monday to Thursday occasional Fridays.

Location
