Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Summer Social Media Coordinators serve as both Peer Advisors and key contributors to the Center for Academic Successs social media strategy during the summer term. In addition to supporting New Student Orientation and the transition of incoming freshmen they help shape the digital presence of the Peer Advisor program. Their work includes promoting events highlighting student voices and preparing for the fall semesters content strategy. This paid position blends mentorship communication and design in a student leadership role.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Collaborate with the administrative team to create a summer content plan aligned with university branding and student engagement goals.

- Develop and post summer content for CAS social media platforms including student welcome messages orientation recaps behind-the-scenes stories and fall prep updates.

- Assist with New Student Orientation by greeting students and families supporting registration labs and serving as a campus resource.

- Introduce yourself to your assigned Student Success Advisor (SSA) or ULife Instructor to begin planning for your Fall ULife course.

- Reach out to your assigned ULife class group to introduce yourself and begin relationship-building and resource sharing.

- Work collaboratively with your SSA or ULife Instructor to set Fall semester Peer Advisor goals.

- Conduct up to 2 hours per week of targeted outreach (email Teams or in-person) to assigned ULife students as needed.

- Attend optional summer info sessions to build confidence in your role. First-year Peer Advisors are especially encouraged to attend.

- Work any assigned office hours in the Center for Academic Success.

- Attend mandatory Peer Advisor training in August for the academic year.

- Assist in Welcome Week activities to help freshmen transition smoothly into campus life.

FEDERAL WORK STUDY REQUIREMENT

NO -- Federal Work Study eligibility not required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Successfully completed the Peer Advisor interview process and was selected.

Will have completed at least 30 credits by May 15 2025.

Will be registered for at least 12 credits for Fall 2025 unless otherwise approved.

Will maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher with no incomplete grades.

Is in good judicial standing with the University and have no active or unresolved conduct issues on my record.

Has demonstrated leadership experience as evidenced by participation in extra-curricular activities.

Is responsible able to take initiative be flexible and problem solve.

Has the ability to work with diverse people
