Basic Job Functions:
The Tensile Lab Technician will be responsible for conducting mechanical testing to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail excellent organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment within the lab.
- Sample Preparation & Testing: Perform mechanical tests on materials recording data and
- to ensure accurate and consistent test results. interpreting results to ensure material properties meet specified requirements.
- Data Analysis: Analyze test results and communicate findings to relevant departments.
- Equipment Maintenance: Calibration verification maintenance and troubleshooting testing equipment
- Quality Control: Assist in quality control processes by verifying material specifications conducting additional mechanical tests as required and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all tests performed including raw data calculations and reporting.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two-year technical degree or higher AND/OR relevant work experience
- Sound knowledge of customer specifications
- Demonstrated ability to go the extra mile; whether it is hours worked or responsibilities accepted with the proper attitude and dependability.
