About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly andcollaborative Environmental Health Team!
Reporting to the Senior Environmental Health Officer you willwork in a team consisting of five EHOs. You will proactivelysupport our local community to achieve and maintain high standardsof public and environmental health. Due to the unique nature of theregion this role offers a diverse range of public health areasincluding food safety water safety caravan parks / campinggrounds waste-water approvals event safety and mosquitomanagement just to list a few.
What you will need to succeed:
You will align with our values and ideally have the followingcompetencies:
- Qualification acceptable for appointment as an Environmental Health Officer or authorised person such as a Graduate Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health.
- Considerable ability to interpret and apply Environmental Health legislation policy and procedures.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Developed problem solving techniques negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- High level ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience in Local Government practices and procedures programs policies and activities and their application in Environmental Health disciplines.
