Job Description

Unity Preparatory Charter School of Brooklyn a grade 6-12 public charter school located in central Brooklyn is seeking a mission-driven and strategic Student Recruitment & Community Relations Manager (Hybrid Role) to lead school-wide efforts to attract enroll and retain a diverse and thriving student body. This role blends data-driven strategy grassroots community outreach and compelling storytelling to ensure Unity meets or exceeds its annual enrollment goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Recruitment Planning

  • Design and execute an annual student recruitment and enrollment strategy aligned to Unitys growth goals.
  • Use application and enrollment data to monitor progress identify trends and make real-time adjustments to outreach tactics.
  • Lead Unitys presence in the community by strengthening partnerships with feeder schools local organizations and neighborhood leaders.

Community Engagement & Outreach Execution

  • Plan and lead family-friendly recruitment events including open houses school tours and community presentations.
  • Represent Unity at school fairs festivals and other neighborhood events.
  • Supervise and support seasonal staff and volunteers involved in outreach canvassing and phone banking.
  • Ensure that all outreach and events are welcoming culturally responsive and accessible to families of all backgrounds.

Marketing & Communications

  • Develop and manage digital and print marketing campaigns to elevate Unitys visibility and reach target audiences.
  • Maintain and update Unitys website and external-facing platforms with engaging accurate and timely content.
  • Create newsletters flyers ads and social media content that reflect Unitys values programs and impact.
  • Work closely with school leadership to craft clear and consistent messaging across all communications.

Enrollment Operations & Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Unitys operations registration and data teams to ensure a seamless experience from inquiry to enrollment.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment data and provide weekly reports and dashboards to school leaders.
  • Manage and optimize the use of enrollment platforms CRMs and communication tools.
  • Contribute to school-wide efforts around student retention and family engagement.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in student recruitment admissions marketing or community organizing preferably in an urban education setting.
  • Deep commitment to educational equity and Unitys mission.
  • Excellent communication skills-written visual and interpersonal-with the ability to inspire diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Experience with digital marketing tools (e.g. Canva Mailchimp Meta Ads Manager) and enrollment databases (e.g. SchoolMint PowerSchool Salesforce).
  • Fluency in Spanish Haitian Creole or another language spoken in our community is a strong plus.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends during peak recruitment periods.
