Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Yorkshire to assist with the appointment of a Senior Estates Surveyor on a 3-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 26.79 - 34.00 per hour

Summary:

North Yorkshire Council is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Estates Surveyor to manage a large and varied property portfolio. This role is central to implementing and sustaining the Corporate Landlord model and supports major estate management initiatives strategic planning and project delivery. The post holder will act as a professional lead within a multi-disciplinary team providing expert property and estate management advice while delivering income generation regulatory compliance and value-driven asset management solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the management of a diverse and complex portfolio of land and property assets.
  • Develop and implement long-term asset strategies that align with council priorities.
  • Ensure portfolio compliance with statutory regulatory and RICS/CIPFA standards.
  • Manage large-scale multi-disciplinary property projects including external consultants ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Support the delivery of the Councils Asset Management Strategy and Property Transformation Plan.

Qualifications:

  • Full RICS qualification and chartered membership (MRICS).

Requirements:
  • Significant post-qualified experience in estate or property management.
  • Sound technical knowledge of property transactions leases and landlord/tenant law.
  • Proven experience in managing commercial and operational property portfolios.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and income optimisation.
  • Track record in acquiring and disposing of property assets in a strategic context.
  • Experience in contract management and working with external consultants.
