36hrs. per week
The Patient Transport/Driver is responsible for providing transport of patients to and from the hospital for various tests procedures therapy and treatment. As approved by manager transports a variety of medical equipment and or supplies. Transports other staff members VPs etc. when request to various meetings or events. Responsible for ensuring patients/passengers arrive on time for scheduled tests rehab therapy etc. Plans daily routes and patient distribution in advance to ensure that all schedules are meet. Ensures safe transportation of patients and/or passengers. Responsible for vehicle upkeep maintenance cleanliness and gas records. Demonstrates a caring sensitive approach to all passengers. Liaison with other Health Care staff as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.
Experience: Preferred at least one year of experience as driver/patient transport.
Licensure/Certification: Must have a current valid SC Drivers License. Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card.

Knowledge/Skills: Must have an excellent driving record. Must have a caring disposition good social skills tack and diplomacy. Develop an intimate knowledge of regular patients. Knowledgeable in the geographical areas of Charleston and the Lowcountry.
Other: This position requires operation of a vehicle for Roper St. Francis Healthcare business. Due to this job requirement the selected candidate/employee must possess a valid current South Carolina drivers license. In addition the selected candidate/employee must be insurable under the Roper St. Francis Healthcare vehicle insurance plan which will be verified by reviewing licensure and driving record.
Contacts:
Interaction with internal and external customers to include (but not limited to) patients families physicians employees and visitors.
Work Demands/Environment:
Heavy physical effort lift/carry up to 60 lbs. Prolonged extensive or considerable standing/walking pushes/pulls or moves/lifts heavy equipment/supplies. Sits for long periods in vehicle while driving or waiting for patients/passengers. Must be willing to work weekends and night when requested. Must be flexible with hours to work shifts weekends and holiday. Must be able to work in a hospital environment. Must be able to work during extreme heat and cold temperatures.
