PSEG operates under a Flexible Work Model where flexible work is offered when job requirements allow. In support of this model roles have been categorized into one of four work location categories:
Onsite are roles that have specific onsite requirements and are typically onsite daily.
Hybrid fixed are roles that are a blend of onsite work/in-person interactions with some ability to work remotely and require employees to live within a commutable distance and be onsite fixed days each week.
Hybrid flexible are roles that can be performed remotely but require some level of onsite work/in-person interactions on a regular basis require employees to live within a commutable distance and since business needs vary by position and may change over time managers will set expectations and flexibility regarding where and when work is performed.
Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

This is a first level supervisory position in the Overhead Construction Department at Palisades Electric Division.
Supervise assigned Bargaining Unit personnel in the overhead construction maintenance repair replacement and operation of electric outside plant facilities including poles and overhead conductors
Achieve the desired results of the Palisades Division Overhead Construction Organization through the use of PSEG values and tools sound management practices and skills and a total commitment to teamwork
Oversee the activities of all outside plant construction associates (PSE&G and contractor) to ensure safe and efficient construction of outside plant facilities
Supervise the construction of all outside plant electric distribution facilities
Assist in the training and development of overhead personnel
Promote safety principles
Coach Counsel and recognize associates as required and handle First Step Grievance meetings in accordance with Positive Discipline
Conduct fact-finding meetings as required
Conduct performance appraisal reviews with Bargaining Unit associates
Assign and direct work to accomplish the desired results in a safe efficient and expeditious manner
Accept overhead call-out assignments
Assist in the emergency response and restoration for major events to include accepting Mutual Aid obligations
Expected to respond outside of normal hours even when not on-call
Ability to layout and supervise the work of others
Knowledge and ability to train and instruct personnel in work practices and use of tools and equipment
Required:
Extensive knowledge Company/Union agreement
Must utilize ability to recognize unusual conditions and take corrective action
High school graduate
A minimum of 5 years extensive experience in the construction operation maintenance and repair of overhead outside plant electric distribution facilities
Must possess and maintain a valid drivers and CDL license
The successful candidate is expected to participate in Distributions Supervisory Academy
Safety sensitive position. D.O.T. testing required
Must obtain an acceptable score on the First Line Supervisors Test (FLST) unless presently an internal employee and directly supervising (i.e. responsible for performance review) Union operating department/represented associates for a minimum of 12 continuous months
For those who have previously taken and received an acceptable score on the FLST but who are not presently and directly supervising represented associates test results will be valid for a maximum period of two years from the date the test was taken. Acceptable test results exceeding the two year period (for those applicants not presently and directly supervising represented associates) cannot be used in bidding on or applying for a first line supervisory position for which the test was validated.

Experience/working knowledge of MWMS and other computer applications
Ability to maintain effective working relationships and interface with other groups in the Division as well as Asset Management and other P&C associates
Ability to assist with troubleshooting identifying and analyzing abnormal situations

For all roles PSEGs drug and alcohol testing program includes pre-employment testing testing for cause and post-incident/accident testing. For employees in federally regulated roles (including positions covered by USDOT PHMSA or NRC regulations) this also includes random testing. Although numerous states throughout the country have legalized marijuana/cannabis products recreationally and/or medically it is prohibited for employees in federally regulated roles. Employees who are hired or transfer into a federally regulated role are subject to drug and alcohol testing inclusive of marijuana.
