Job Description

Introduction

Aeris is an ASX listed diversified mining and exploration company with copper and gold operations across Australia. Our expanding portfolio of operating mines development projects and exploration prospects make Aeris an exciting growing company.

As part of achieving our goals we have a newly created Brisbane based position of Senior Health and Safety Advisor reporting to directly to our General Manager Sustainability. This role is a key member of the Aeris Resources Sustainability team that provides technical and expert advice governance and compliance support to our operation mines investments projects and studies.

The Senior Health and Safety Advisor is responsible for supporting the development implementation and continuous improvement of health and safety systems policies and practices across Aeris. This role facilitates compliance with relevant legislation fosters a proactive safety culture and provides guidance and oversight on risk management and workers compensation.

What youll do

  • Develop implement and maintain group level health and safety procedures and risk management frameworks in line with legislation and industry best practice.
  • Support and monitor compliance across the business through audits inspections and reviews.
  • Provide advice and guidance on legislative changes and their implications for Aeris.
  • Lead or support incident investigations ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are completed as well as timely communication of lessons learned.
  • Provide oversight of the workers compensation process including claims management injury reporting and liaison with insurers and regulators.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on safety performance incident statistics training completion and claim trends.
  • Identify areas for improvement and lead safety initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate crisis management scenarios and training.
  • Support cross-site collaboration and knowledge sharing to strengthen H&S outcomes and create business value across the organisation.

What you bring

  • Relevant qualifications in safety.
  • Relevant industry experience ideally within a corporate or multi-site environment
  • Experience in managing or overseeing workers compensation and return-to-work processes
  • Comprehensive knowledge of WHS and workers compensation legislation and standards
  • Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
