Job Description
We are searching for a qualified experienced tool/die maker to join our team in the production of Fasteners for the aerospace industry.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient at producing heading dies/tooling such as hammers up-sets and quills from materials including carbide and steel. Die configurations include straight hole flush head and extrusion. Close tolerance work such as honing and lapping required.
Strong knowledge of measuring instruments including dial indicators hole gages optical comparator depth gages and micrometers.
Experienced using hand tools bench grinder and a variety of secondary machines.
Ability to diagnose and correct problems associated with complex heading operations due to die function and can improvise specialized tooling.
Perform light maintenance of machines in tool room.
Knowledge of shop math and familiar with shop practices and terminology.
Fluent in working to engineering drawings informal heading sketches or verbal instructions.
Work independently to perform machining operations on a lathe with subsidiary work done on tool and cutter grinders and honing/lapping machines.
