Assesses student needs for counseling and attend TEAM meetings to make recommendations for the students Individual Educational Plan (IEP). Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of records and submit reports as required for progress reporting annual review initial or reevaluation of TEAM meetings. Liaison between home and school to improve learning while promoting positive life plans for eligible students. Provide individual group classroom and crisis interventions. Interfaces with agencies hospitals clinics and mental health agencies regarding referring eligible students when needed. Assist administration in implementing District Improvement Plans DCAP advisories from the Department of Education and policies and rules governing student life and conduct. Teaches classes in healthy relationships stress management substance drug and alcohol abuse and family matters. Adhere to all federal state local laws and policies as they pertain to adjustment counseling IDEA and Civil Rights. Attends conferences and workshops and participates in professional growth activities as directed by the Building Principal and/ or Director of Student Support Services. Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required by the Building Principal and/ or Director of Student Services. Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal and/ or Director of Student Support Services.
