Finance employees receive account for monitor and design internal controls to safeguard sacred funds (donated confidentially in obedience to Gods commandments) for the Churchs religious mission under the direction of senior ecclesiastical leaders. Reporting to a controller or director this position is the senior level financial manager position. In this position an incumbent will typically manage a work group that will consist of financial industry professionals such as Accountants Financial Analysts Finance Supervisors and Accounting Clerks. The incumbent is responsible for the quality and quantity of work in the unit including timely processing of accounting/financial documents timely completion of reconciliations related to the units work etc.
In this position an incumbent typically manages a work group that will consist of financial industry professionals such as Accountants Financial Analysts Finance Supervisors and Accounting Clerks. The mix of employees managed will depend on the department the work group and the nature of the specific assignments. In addition incumbents in this position typically work with international accounting and finance.
In this management role the incumbent: (1) handles selection staffing performance and discipline issues; (3) provides/arranges for employee training; (4) assigns work; (5) researches and solves problems unique to the unit; and (6) serves in special committees or participates in special projects as assigned.
In addition to management duties the incumbent may perform significant individual contributor functions. In such cases an attachment is included that becomes part of this job description for the specific job. At this level the individual contributor functions would be similar in complexity to those specified in the Analyst Financial Senior job description and would typically focus on the Department or Corporate level. Ensures that all reports and disclosures comply with applicable governmental regulations professional standards and organizational policies. Assists in the direction and administration of the organizations financial operations. May manage the preparation and review of budgets and various other financial operating reports.
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or a related field.
CMA CPA or MBA preferred.
Twelve years or more of related professional work experience.
Working knowledge of PCs networks and basic software applications including spreadsheets and databases.
Extensive knowledge of the Churchs general ledger accounting system international accounting systems and writing standard queries to generate reports.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
