Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education
Bachelors in Applied Science Nursing Medical Technology Microbiology Epidemiology or other related field
Masters Degree (Preferred)

Registered Nurse (RN) in State of Michigan (Preferred)

2 Years of healthcare related experience

Position Summary:

Coordinates implements and evaluates the organizations infection prevention and control program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Coordinates the development and evaluation of the organizations infection prevention and control strategies policies and planning.

Collects and performs statistical analysis interpretation and dissemination of healthcare associated infection data including risk assessment surveillance priorities and outcomes analysis.

Monitors local state and federal regulations and ensures compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies standards and requirements.

Assists with the development of Infection Prevention educational resources and initiatives.

Monitors research and developments in the field of infection prevention and control to identify best practices.

Membership in either APIC (Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology) or SHEA (Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America)
