Job Description

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of the Director of Nursing the Infection Control/Employee Health nurse is responsible for the development implementation direction and operation of the Jewish Home of CNYs infection prevention and control (IPCP) and Employee Health programs.
The IC/EH nurse also takes responsibility for ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements related to Infection Control and Employee Health.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of specialized infection prevention and control training and certification. (CDC IC Training Program)
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing with a RN license to practice in New York State (preferred).
- CPR certified BLS Certified preferred
- 3 years of Infection Control Employee Health (or a combination of both) experience (preferred).
- Dynamic engaging personality
- Experience with staff education
- Effective communicator with the ability to establish positive collaborative relationships with all staff and leadership
- Detailed oriented with excellent time management skills and the ability to plan organize prioritize and work independently to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of DOH and CMS regulatory requirements.
- Flexible working schedule with the ability to accommodate off shift and weekend hours as necessary
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet project deadlines and needs of the facility as they arise.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Working knowledge of excel and computer skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend be on your knees transfer lift move turn use equipment for training purposes
- Must be able to repetitively lift 26-50 pounds and push/pull 250 pounds.
- Moderate exposure to communicable disease
