Job Description

Established in 1912 the Jewish Home of CNY evolved from a small rooming house in downtown Syracuse to become the 36-acre campus in DeWitt known as Menorah Park. Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of the Director of Nursing the Infection Control/Employee Health nurse is responsible for the development implementation direction and operation of the Jewish Home of CNYs infection prevention and control (IPCP) and Employee Health programs.

The IC/EH nurse also takes responsibility for ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements related to Infection Control and Employee Health.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of specialized infection prevention and control training and certification. (CDC IC Training Program)
  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing with a RN license to practice in New York State (preferred).
  • CPR certified BLS Certified preferred
  • 3 years of Infection Control Employee Health (or a combination of both) experience (preferred).
  • Dynamic engaging personality
  • Experience with staff education
  • Effective communicator with the ability to establish positive collaborative relationships with all staff and leadership
  • Detailed oriented with excellent time management skills and the ability to plan organize prioritize and work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of DOH and CMS regulatory requirements.
  • Flexible working schedule with the ability to accommodate off shift and weekend hours as necessary
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet project deadlines and needs of the facility as they arise.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Working knowledge of excel and computer skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend be on your knees transfer lift move turn use equipment for training purposes
  • Must be able to repetitively lift 26-50 pounds and push/pull 250 pounds.
  • Moderate exposure to communicable disease
