Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth were looking to add a Principal Engineer - Busway located preferably in one of our Flex or Anord Mardix locations in Ireland or United Kingdom.
Reporting to the Global Head of R&D the Principal Engineer - Busway role involves driving innovation and development of our market leading global range of busbar / busway systems & products.
What a typical day looks like:
- Drive innovation by researching creating product roadmaps and implementing new technologies and methodologies to new and existing products
- Globally lead the technical aspects of Busway R&D projects setting goals designs and approaches to ensure successful completion
- Provide guidance on complex technical issues and make critical decisions affecting project outcomes
- Establish and uphold technical standards conduct design reviews and provide feedback to ensure all deliverables meet required specifications
- Mentor R&D engineers helping them develop technical skills and problem-solving abilities
- Work closely with other departments such as product management and operations to align engineering efforts with business objectives
- Improve engineering processes and workflows making them more efficient and effective
The experience were looking to add to our team:
- Requires a minimum of 8 years of experience in a relevant Engineering or Product Development role.
- Bachelors Degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience is required
- Masters degree in engineering or related field is desirable
- CEng (PE in USA & Canada) or be willingness to work towards achieving this certification within a specified timeframe is desirable.
- Experience of Project Management or Product Management is desirable
- Evidence of Professional leadership training is required
- Deep knowledge of electrical systems including design development and implementation of power distribution equipment such as transformers switchgear and circuit breakers.
- Experience leading complex engineering projects including setting goals managing timelines and coordinating with cross-functional teams
- Proficient in English is a must to lead advance technical discussions with international teams and stakeholders.
- Be technically competent with various software programs including Microsoft Office CAD and CFD.
