Job Description

Are you passionate about fostering meaningful relationships and creating unforgettable experiences The Museum of Flight is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Membership Associate to join our team and help strengthen our connection with our valued member community. In this role youll be at the heart of member engagement communicating directly with our constituency through phone calls in-person interactions and digital outreach. You will play an essential role in supporting member events including those held during evenings and weekends ensuring all members feel welcomed and valued. Summary

The Membership Associate is dedicated to creating positive and lasting relationships with The Museum of Flights member constituency. This position focuses on developing and implementing engaging communication by phone within spaces and through digital communications. This role supports member events including nights and weekends providing a welcoming presence for all members and related stakeholders. Working collaboratively with the Membership Manager and Coordinator the Associate plays a vital role in enhancing member experience and maximizing engagement and retention.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed both major and minor which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.   1. Act as the first line of membership services contact; providing prompt and courteous customer service via phone email and other correspondence to address member requests.
  2. Process Membership applications and coordinate email renewal notices digital membership card program and other paper and digital processes.
  3. Supports in the planning and implementation of a variety of member events throughout the year that include evening and weekend hours.
  4. Coordinate and compile Membership communication: including newsletter website updates department communications schedule and other marketing messages and notifications.
  5. With the Membership Manager and team assist with the creation and implementation of acquisition strategies to meet annual income goals.
  6. Assist within public spaces/admissions with member issues and inquiries as assigned.
  7. Acts as a collaborative partner with Museum staff and other appropriate stakeholders as an ambassador for members.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates degree in a plus.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience working with data entry and working with database systems.
  • Customer service experience via phone email and other forms of verbal and written mediums.

Knowledge

  • Practical knowledge of best practices for entering and maintaining disparate data sources

Skill

  • Accurate and prompt data entry skills. Experience with Raisers Edge Outbound Software and/or Counterpoint Software a plus.
  • Strong customer service skills as primary contact for member inquiries via phone email and in-person.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills verbally and in writing.
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft 365 Office environment.

Abilities

  • Ability to manage time effectively and balance multiple and competing priorities.
  • Displays good customers services skills and comfortable working with internal and external diverse populations.

  • Schedule is set by the department manager.
  • May require working additional hours including evenings and weekends based on Museum need.
  • Onsite attendance is essential to perform some of the duties of this position.
  • Little to no travel is expected for this position.

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally able to lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistance.
  • This position works in an office environment with long sedentary periods and repetitive wrist and arm movement.
  • The ability to focus bend carry reach to the side front and overhead push pull walk stand twist and squat are occasional requirements in a normal office setting.
  • On occasion must be able to be physically active for the duration of the workday.

Benefits

The Museum of Flight offers full-time employees benefits which include 2 weeks of accrued sick leave (80 hours) per year for the first 4 years 10 paid working holidays 403(b) retirement plan and a 25% discount at the Museum Store.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $27.00 per hour depending on experience.

Should you receive an offer please expect that it can fall anywhere within this range. A multitude of factors will determine a fair salary based on the following: scope of role within the organization years of relevant experience specific skills and evaluation of capability to execute in role successfully (among other critical factors).
