Position Overview: Radiology Technologist (Mammography Technologist)
Under the direction of the Radiologist the Radiology Technologist (Mammography Technologist) performs a variety of digital mammography procedures including screening and diagnostic exams wire localizations galactography biopsy procedures DEXA exams and quality control. The Radiology Technologist (Mammography Technologist) ensures high-quality care is provided to the patient while meeting the needs of the organization regulatory agencies physicians and staff. A working knowledge and experience in Digital Mammography sterile technique and documentation and record-keeping are essential for success in this role. This position requires the ability to work independently provide excellent patient care and communication and demonstrate a commitment to our Core Values.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Documentation of Digital Mammography Tomo Training (8 hours)
- Mammography Experience: Minimum of 200 exams performed in the past 24 months
- Mammography Continuing Education: 15 hours completed in the past 36 months
- Graduate of an AMA-accredited Radiologic Technology Program
- Current CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist)
- Current Mammographic Permit
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Ability to effectively operate radiologic equipment
Preferred but not required:
- Associates Degree
- ARRT Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
