The Client Services Officer is responsible for providing efficient and high-quality support to a team in a District Office/Regional Office environment. The incumbent provides administrative support on the day-to-day operations of the office.
They support Relationship Managers on new and existing deals. A high degree of professionalism is required as the role has frequent contact with clients prospects COIs lawyers accountants Roynat Executive Office and other Scotiabank partners.
Is this role right for you In this role you will:
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bankrelationships systems and knowledge.
- Provides support to Relationship Managers and the District Director/ District Manager on new and existingdeals by:
- Contributing to the completion of credit applications by the Relationship Manager including thecompletion of various forms collecting/spreading initial financial information obtaining credit reports andsupplier contacts.
- Contributing to client portfolio management by reviewing and obtaining required authorizations gatheringsupporting documentation including property taxes appraisals insurance environmental certificates andfinancial statements and ensuring all client correspondence and sundry files are up to date.
- Spreading financial statement data and where possible providing basic analysis to identify trends andchanges in revenue streams.
- Completing reports and conducting due diligence research as needed.
- Ensuring requirements and any contingent conditions such as Know Your Customer (KYC) have beensatisfied before facilitating the disbursement process.
- Ensures effective and timely communication with all Roynat employees Centres of Influence Roynat clientsand Partners.
- Provide exceptional support on client events
- Contributing to the Operational Excellence by supporting day-to-day office operations to ensure compliance and operational efficiencies.
- Contributing to productivity and self-development:
- Maintaining a solid knowledge of Roynat products services processes and procedures.
- Maintaining a good knowledge of changes to policies/procedures to ensure assigned duties andresponsibilities are completed in accordance with company/bank requirements.
- Understands how the Banks risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities anddecisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance withScotiabanks Values its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles while ensuring the adequacyadherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect tooperational compliance AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role
- Successful completion of a post-secondary program with a focus on commerce economics financeand/or accounting
- 1-2 years of experience working in a financial accounting or loan processing/credit adjudicationenvironment.
- Strong communication skills (French and English) is required in this role.
- Good knowledge of the Canadian Commercial Banking marketplace is an asset.
- Foundational relationship-building skills with proven ability to work in a team setting and cross-functionallywith other Roynat/Scotiabank partners.
- Basic knowledge of the Canadian Commercial Banking marketplace.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Good understanding of financial statement analysis and knowledge of risk assessment techniques forstructuring credits are considered an asset.
- Good presentation skills and ability to think/respond quickly and adapt to change readily.
