Job Description

Job Title: Director of Accountability Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Reports to: Asst Superintendent of Admin Pay Grade: Prof 7 (24/25:$97698 - $140588)

(Commensurate with Years of Experience)

Dept. /School: PEIMS/Curriculum & Instruction Date Revised: 05/2022

Report Date: July 1 2025 Days to Work: 226/12 Months

Primary Purpose:

Supervise the collection and reporting of district Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data. Supervise district testing coordinator in the direction supervision and management of the testing program. Provide leadership to ensure high standards of auditing of PEIMS data and direct proper data entry. Provide leadership and coordination to an aligned and articulated instructional assessment accountability and data analysis program for the district.

Qualifications:

Masters Degree in Education related field

Education/Certification:

Masters Degree in Educational Leadership preferred

Texas Teaching certificate required

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of PEIMS Reporting and Data Entry Requirements

Knowledge of state testing and accountability programs

Experience administering STAAR/EOC TELPAS College Board and ACT assessments

Experience:

3 years classroom experience

3 years of instructional leadership experience

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop oversee and participate in on-going PEIMS training and development activities offered by the district.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to interpret PEIMS data and supervise the accuracy of PEIMS reports for the district.
  • Collaborate with the technology department to support the online testing program and facilitate the accurate reporting of PEIMS data.
  • Utilize technology to maintain accurate State testing and PEIMS information.
  • Examine campus district and state assessment data focus on trends with regard to teachers teams programs or processes and demographics to assist in decision making and action planning.

School/Organizational Climate:

  • Foster collegiality and team building among staff. Encourage their active involvement in the decision process.
  • Provide for two-way communication with principals staff students parents and community.
  • Communicate and promote program expectations for high-level performance to the staff students and parents.

School/Organizational Improvement:

  • Assist in the development maintenance and use of appropriate information systems and records necessary to ensure campus compliance for PEIMS data collection and reporting.
  • Identify analyze and apply research findings to facilitate improvement in the area of student performance.

Personnel Management:

  • Assist in the interviewing recommendation and orientation of new staff as requested by the district.
  • Communicate expectations for staff performance record observations and conduct evaluation conferences with assigned staff.
  • Ability to investigate document and submit formal incident reports and memorandums.

Administrations/Fiscal Facilities Management:

  • Comply with district policies and state and federal laws and regulations affecting schools.
  • Assure PEIMS data is audited regularly and reported correctly to TEA.
  • Manage department budget following policies and guidelines.

Professional Growth and Development:

  • Use information and insights provided through assessment instruments the district appraisal process evaluative feedback and professional development programs to improve performance.
  • Provide leadership in addressing challenges facing the profession; pursue professional development activities; disseminate ideas and information to other professionals.
  • Observe professional ethical standards in accordance with generally accepted community standards and the Texas Education Agency Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.

School/Community Relations:

  • Articulate the districts missions to the community and solicit its support in realizing its mission.
  • Demonstrate awareness of school/community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs.
  • Use appropriate and effective techniques for community and parent involvement.
  • Demonstrate behavior that is professional ethical and responsible.
  • Understand and adhere to ethical behavior while overseeing the security required by the TEA/District for all state-mandated assessment programs and reporting of PIEMS data.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES CONTINUED:

  • All other duties as assigned.

Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing); coordinate campus support functions; maintain emotional control under stress.

Physical Demands:

Occasional district-wide travel occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
