Job Summary:
The Asset Technician is responsible for supporting the development maintenance and accuracy of the Public Works infrastructure asset database. This role includes digitizing maps entering and managing spreadsheet and GIS data preparing digital maps and reports for capital improvement and special projects and assisting with infrastructure system planning and management. The position plays a key role in maintaining and updating the departments asset and maintenance management systems ensuring accurate inventory records for both infrastructure assets (e.g. traffic signals irrigation systems lighting) and department resources (e.g. equipment repair parts). The Asset Technician works with various divisions to ensure data integrity support project planning and enhance operational efficiency through effective asset tracking.
