POSITION SUMMARY:

The Equipment Manager will assist the Athletic Director in maintaining a high level of student athlete equipment for a safe environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Athletic Equipment Managers Certification (preferred)
- Experience in maintaining and inventorying athletic equipment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work with staff teachers and students at various educational levels
- Proficient communicator with excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of district staff and with a diverse community.
- Ability to work independently
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
.
- Work closely with and maintain open communication with the Athletic Director to provide a safe and positive student athletic environment.
- Distribution of equipment and uniforms to athletic coaches and their teams for practice and game situations.
- Keeps a running inventory of all athletic equipment.
- Issues and collects all team & staff equipment (in a timely manner).
- Repairs/services equipment including weight-room equipment.
- Assists coaches in preparing for home games/contests: soccer cross country Swimming volleyball basketball tennis football baseball bowling cheerleading and track.
- Supervises student workers assigned to assist the manager during all home events and during the collection and issuance of equipment.
- Identifies needed repairs of Athletic equipment/facilities
- Serves as host to athletic game officials and visiting coaches.
- Contacting outside vendors (when approved to do so); supervising the needed repairs/replacements and monitoring the adequacy of repairs made.
- Purchase all athletic equipment needed by teams and department based on a systematic plan for yearly purchases.
- Under the directive of the Athletic Director seek and pursue all corporate sponsorship agreements that will advance the revenue potential of the fundraising arm of the entire athletic program.
- Ensure that the Athletic Department is in compliance with the laws and spirit of gender equity and Title IX when purchasing and distributing equipment for all athletes and teams.
- Supervise and facilitate equipment needs at all home and away football contest.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include decisions related to selection performance appraisal discipline and salary recommendations.
- Build strong and empowered teams by providing direction delegation counsel mentoring and expertise to individual team leads while retaining overall responsibility and accountability for results.
- Promote and encourage the development training and promotion of staff members to assure the perpetuation of a professional and competent workforce.
