Were looking for a Corporate Attorney Privacy- Hybrid Shakopee MN

The Corporate Attorney partners with members of the Entrust Privacy Team to support Entrusts global privacy program. The Corporate Attorney Privacy must be organized efficient and flexible; work well under pressure; understand highly technical products and services; develop strong cross-functional partnerships; and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

How you will make an impact:

The following represent the key responsibilities of the role as they exist today. This role may expand to include responsibilities that may be new to the Corporate Attorney Privacy.

  • Work closely with our Product and Engineering teams to ensure privacy by design and ongoing compliance with biometric privacy AI and cyber security laws and regulations.

  • Perform various privacy impact assessments and advise business stakeholders regarding applicable privacy requirements.

  • Develop and improve Entrusts privacy compliance program to meet requirements of existing and emerging laws.

  • Advise colleagues across our business on customer-facing matters such as coordinating responses to customer privacy and security concerns including AI governance and transfer impact assessments communicating Entrusts privacy compliance and safeguards.

  • Support the wider legal procurement and growth teams with client deals including being a point of escalation for contract negotiations.

  • Respond to day-to-day privacy queries from across the Entrust business including on Product HR Contracts Client queries End User and Law Enforcement requests.

  • Lead on privacy vendor due diligence and ongoing vendor management matters undertaking risk assessments developing supplier privacy compliance frameworks and managing records of processing including client notifications.

  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders including Product Marketing Compliance Legal Strategy HR and Information Security teams setting clear accountabilities and policies for data protection.

  • Assist in the creation and delivery of training legal resources and playbook content.

  • Monitor global privacy AI and biometric regulation and policy developments advise on risks and opportunities arising from emerging laws and help drive Entrusts policy positions.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree

  • Admission to the Bar of at least one state (preferably MN)

  • 3 years experience in-house or at a top law firm (with secondment experience) with a solid focus in data protection matters

  • Demonstrable experience of assisting on a range of privacy projects and issues

  • Expertise in advising on GDPR ideally in a fast-paced technology company financial services company or other regulated industry

  • Must be able to lawfully work within the jurisdiction where the colleague resides

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior in-house experience within a high-growth technology company.

  • Familiarity and working knowledge of other global data protection regimes including U.S. state laws including biometric laws.

  • Experience with data risk management and/or supporting audits from a privacy perspective.

  • CIPP certification.

  • Strong commercial acumen; able to take a pragmatic approach to legal risk and advise the business accordingly/

  • Skilled at collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across all levels of the business.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong team player and can-do approach; no job is too big or too small.

  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic business.

Compensation Range:


The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $149504-$219272 per year (in the primary posting location). Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location education skills and experience. This position is also eligible for the companys discretionary annual incentive plan.
