The successful candidate must be located near a Canadian Blood Services site and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors our staff and our communities. Currently employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement may vary depending upon circumstances.

About this role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular Full-TimeProduct Ownerto join our dynamicIntegrated Supply Chain Business Systems and Analytics team. The work of a Product Owner is integral to Canadian Blood Services role asCanadas Lifeline. Reporting to the Associate Director ISC Business System you will build and maintain strong relationships with business partners and be responsible for setting prioritizing and accepting the work generated by a cross-functional team to ensure the most valuable and proper functionality of the technology product driving a best-in-class product vision.
You will take on many product management responsibilities supporting both tactical and strategic decision-making. This role is an operationally critical one delivering products according to user needs while developing strategy to make the enterprise product vision a reality. As an experienced leader with deep hands-on experience in product strategy and delivery you will help Canadian Blood Services leaders make strategic and informed decisions about system and technology product roadmaps. You must be comfortable with meeting deadlines supporting multiple stakeholder customers and collaborating across the enterprise while providing an excellent level of customer service.
AsProduct Owner youll be at the heart of creating and enhancing scalable platform tools for CBS and the primary point of contact on behalf of systems customers in the Production Manufacturing and Materials Management environment. You will collaborate closely with Integrated Supply Chain Operations Process Management and Information Technology Internal and External Customer Experience teams. System Products in your scope will include interoperable custom and out-of-the-box applications servicing the Production Manufacturing and Materials Management Experience (e.g. SAP MM SAP PP SAP MRP Production Batching Tool).
Formula for Success
Leveraging on your Product Strategy and Roadmap Development expertise:
- Define the strategic vision and own the product roadmap for the integrated supply chain product.
- Drive innovation and end-to-end launch of product(s).
- Facilitate the relationship with the end customer and business leadership owners bringing the voice and priorities of the customer to the forefront.
Using your superior Backlog Management and Prioritization skills:
- Develop scope and define backlog items and priorities that guide the agile software development team.
- Manage backlog of defects and design and technical debt to ensure a sustainablehigh level of customer experience.
- Prioritize feature delivery and review and reprioritize the team backlog before iteration planning sessions.
Drawing on your Product Solution and Delivery skills:
- Actively participate in Design Solution thinking.
- Identify features to be delivered and oversee product development from a business and customer need perspective.
- Ensure the solution solves the business problem and meets the customer needs evaluating product progress at each iteration.
Utilizing a Continuous Improvement approach:
- Identify ways to continually improve on delivery and product quality standards.
- Identify ways to improve processes so they are lean and efficient while meeting business delivery requirements in line with backlog.
Performs other related duties as required.
Desired Education & Skills
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in business information systems or product management.
- A minimum of5 years supply chain experience with SAP S4 Hana with above SAP modules or equivalent ERP systems and interoperability with other supply chain systems.
- A minimum of4-5 years experience in product management and/or product development.
- A minimum of 7-10 years experience working in a variety of business areas with a strong IT or systems focus including but not limited to systems analysis design construction and testing.
- Hands-on experience with business requirement design and solution development management.
- An understanding of best in practice supply chainpractices in the executional ERP and product management sphere.
- Experience in retail planning systems customer service technology and/or other customer-facing environments an asset.
- APICS/CPIM and understanding of lean manufacturingconcepts an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education training and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to influence behaviour and manage change.
- Excellent team building coaching and leadership skills; proven ability to build trust and relationships.
