QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Masters Degree preferred
2. MA Licensure as Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (Prek-8) or Teacher of Students with Severe Disabilities (All)
3. Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Certification
4. Two years of relevant experience in a school based setting preferred
5. Exceptions to the above qualifications shall be made as the Superintendent deems appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education and Student Support Services and Building Principals
JOB GOAL: The Board Certified Behavior Analyst will consult collaborate and provide services and training to support staff and families to improve the educational experience for students with intensive social emotional and/or behavioral needs.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Observes target students in a variety of settings for purposes of both data collection and to provide consultation to team members regarding curriculum instruction and behavior programs.
2. Conducts and interprets evaluations including report writing as per Federal and State laws and regulations.
3. Facilitates the transition planning for students with significant social emotional or behavioral challenges from EI to Preschool as well as grade to grade building to building.
4. Ensures effective implementation of all school and home programming for students.
5. Provides direct instruction training and support to staff and families.
6. Demonstrates ability to work effectively as part of a team.
7. Participates in school and district teams as needed.
8. Effectively manages caseload and prepares and submits all required documentation in a timely manner.
9. Ensures that methodologies are evidence-based and reflect the most recent research.
10. Designs behavioral programs and interprets data from those programs.
11. Demonstrates knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations and School Committee policies.
12. Performs other reasonable duties assigned by the Director of Special Education and Student Support Services and School Principals.
PREFERRED:
Safety-care trainer or trained
Experience as a Professional Development Facilitator
Experience as a classroom teacher
WORK YEAR: Per AEA contract
