Job Description

TITLE: 21ST CENTURY DISTRICT COORDINATOR INTERNAL PUSD APPLICANTS ONLY

DEPARTMENT: Office of Curriculum Instruction and Assessment

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate for grade level and subject.
  2. Bachelors Degree (or higher) from accredited college or university.
  3. Must possess a valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.

JOB GOALS:

The 21st Century District Coordinator will oversee the implementation of the 21st Century Grant to include designing the program to meet academic needs supervising temporary employees managing budget attending meetings and evaluating student data and completing required reports. In addition the 21st Century District Coordinator works with District staff community partners and other constituents to ensure the programs are meeting the objectives of the 21st Century Grant.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following tasks are essential for this position. This list is not inclusive of all responsibilities. Individuals may not perform all of these tasks or may perform similar related tasks not listed.

  1. Provides direct oversight/supervision of two 21st Century Assistant Site Coordinators at Payson Elementary School and Julia Randall Elementary School.
  2. Oversees all Friday summer and after-school programs at the aforementioned schools.
  3. Manages all grant requirements and components for the related programs.
  4. Ensures all required reporting is completed each year.
  5. Manages the grant in ongoing years including grant applications and revisions.
  6. Manages the budget for each school based on the grant application.
  7. Assists in the design of the program to meet the stated academic growth in core subject areas family engagement goals and behavioral goals meeting grant objectives.
  8. Collaborates with the site principal coordinates the implementation of curriculum instruction and assessment programs in the after-school classroom and monitors the instructional delivery to targeted students as needed.
  9. Oversees the development of lesson plans and activities to meet grant objectives.
  10. Acts as a liaison with community partners school staff students and other stakeholders with regard to the 21st Century community learning center program.
  11. Submits contractor invoices in a timely manner determines the need for materials and supplies and submits receipts and other paperwork to the Finance Department.
  12. Monitors student attendance of the programs by collecting attendance rosters oversees attendance database and tracking number of days in attendance per student.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY:

Knowledge of:

  1. District policies operations and organization.
  2. Interpersonal skills including tact courtesy and diplomacy.
  3. Communication (telephone email etc.) etiquette.
  4. Knowledge of FERPA and HIPAA.
  5. Budgetary/finance principles.
  6. Project management practices.

Skill and Ability to:

  1. Work cooperatively with others.
  2. Utilize engaging and encouraging communication skills while interacting with supervisors staff students etc. to exchange information.
  3. Read analyze and interpret written documents.
  4. Analyze and assess student achievement data.
  5. Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  6. Flexibly and creatively problem solve.
  7. Provide excellent customer service.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  1. Perform lifting pushing and/or pulling which does not exceed 50 pounds and is an infrequent aspect of the job.
  2. Requires vision (which may be corrected) to read small print.

  4. Require mobility of arms to reach and dexterity of hands to grasp and manipulate small objects.
  5. Requires the ability to stand for long periods.
  6. Is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.

REPORTS TO: The Director of Curriculum Instruction and Assessment and the site Principals.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Director of Curriculum Instruction and Assessment and the site Principals in accordance with the provisions of Governing Board policy in evaluation of classified personnel.

TERMS OF

EMPLOYMENT: 12 Months.

SALARY: One time per year stipend in the amount of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10000.00). The payment will be split into two parts and paid at the conclusion of each semester.


FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt.
