Job Description

POSITION TITLE: Accounts AdministratorREPORTS TO: Business ManagerSUMMARY: The Accounts Administrator is primarily responsible for providing timelyprocessing of all accounts payable and accounts receivable for the SuttonSchool RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Processes all accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions2. Responds to and resolves vendor inquiries3. Audits purchases and requests for materials and verifies that orders are charged tothe appropriate accounts4. Administers the purchase order system5. Performs account reconciliations6. Monitors all grant expenditures reconciles grants completes and submits financialreports to the Massachusetts Department of Education7. Reconciles all revolving and special article accounts8. Provides MUNIS training to all staff9. Works with a computer-based accounting system to input data and to utilize reports10. Performs other duties as assigned by the Business ManagerSKILLS AND ABILITIES:1. Ability to analyze limited financial data2. Knowledge of Excel or a similar program3. Excellent customer service skills4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers andemployees along with working with external clients and customers5. Ability to maintain own workflow and meet deadlines6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment including responding to frequent demandsand questions of multiple clientele7. Strong communication skills8. Ability to work harmoniously and effectively as part of a work teamQUALIFICATIONS/Requirements1. High School Diploma2. 5 years of experience; or3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Sutton School Committee findsappropriate and acceptable4. Knowledge and experience with MUNIS financial software5. Must be physically present during the school day or normal operating hours during thesummer6. The Superintendent may waive or modify the qualification DEMANDS:The employee must be able to remain stationary for extended periods and occasionally movethroughout the school building as needed. Regular use of hands for typing handling objectsand operating tools is required along with sufficient grip strength for various tasks. The roleinvolves frequent use of a computer and standard office equipment such as a calculator copier and printer. The employee must be able to enter data read from screens and reviewhandwritten or printed materials with or without visual aids. Clear and effectivecommunication with students parents and colleaguesboth in person and over the phoneis essential. Strong visual and auditory awareness is necessary to ensure student safety andprovide meaningful ENVIRONMENT:The employee will be working in a normal school environment with an acceptable level ofnoise. The employee interacts with students parents and other staff members. The employeeis directly responsible for the safety well-being and work output of students. While themajority of the work day is spent inside the employee must spend time outdoors for fire drillsand/or special activities.
