Job Title: Senior Preconstruction Manager
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing day-to-today operations and will support Retrofit Operations Manager.
- Control expenses by developing a department budget monitoring capital expenditures and approving purchases.
- Developing project plans and project timelines.
- Oversees the early phases of commercial construction projects encompassing tasks from initial concept to project handoff.
- Ensuring the projects are well defined cost-effective and compliant with regulations.
- Communicate department goals and objectives to field supervisors Project Managers and support staff.
- Communicate department expectations to the project management team and evaluate and report on progress.
- Maintaining preconstruction project documentation such as site assessments budget schedule permits cost estimations and contracts.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors vendors customers and stakeholders.
- Planning leading and coordinating preconstruction weekly meetings.
- Review job costing reports for large and small preconstruction projects.
- Maintain appropriate preconstruction staff levels by assisting with recruiting interviewing and hiring.
- Oversee the overall scheduling effort to maximize the use of preconstruction personnel and resources to fulfill customer commitments.
- Respond to customer inquiries complaints and special requests.
- Maintain quality standards by visiting job sites and meeting with branch managers VP Ops field supervisors customers and vendors as needed.
- Engage in the prequalification process assist in formulating responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for quotations (RFQs) and oversee the buyout log and chart of accounts.
- Preparation of monthly financial forecasts.
- Maintains a strong safety program.
- Management and Implementation of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Operations.
- May oversee team members and other responsibilities as assigned.
Job Specifications (incl. Education requirements minimal experience computer skills required etc.)
- Bachelors degree in construction management or engineering or relevant experience.
- 8 years commercial project management experience
- Strong leadership management and organizational skills
- Advanced technical writing skills and ability to read and interpret drawings and construction plans are required.
- Detailed oriented follow up through and manage a team to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Proven experience managing large preconstruction projects for a wide range of relevant jobs.
- Experience dealing with subcontractors.
- Must be fluent with Microsoft Office (Word Excel etc.)

Compensation Range: $140000 - $150000 per year
