We are looking for a knowledgeable and self-motivated individual with experience working with 511-year-olds with SEND and SEMH. The sessions will aim to ensure holistic development and wellbeing of the children and will need to be adaptable based on their individual needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing therapeutic support to challenging behaviour and needs. The Primary Practitioner will be supported by the Primary Lead.

Working pattern: 8.30am - 4pm Monday - Friday term time.

Summary of role:

  • deliver therapeutic interventions including Lego Therapy ELSA and Primary Maths and English activities
  • ensure outstanding safeguarding practice and actively promote the welfare of all students
  • facilitate active creative and engaging learning opportunities
  • to have excellent behaviour management skills
  • support students social and emotional development through a caring and inclusive approach
  • to recognise individual needs
  • to contribute in a pro-active and positive manner to the delivery of an effective and efficient service in line with Innov8 Workshops ethos and values
  • prepare maintain and use equipment/resources required to meet the lesson plans/relevant learning activity and assist pupils in their use.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • minimum of 1 year experience working with 5-11-year-olds in an educational setting
  • qualification or accreditation in Play Therapy The Thrive Approach or equivalent
  • experience of working with SEND/SEMH children
  • experience of dealing with challenging behaviour
  • computer literate
  • excellent safeguarding knowledge
  • strong communication and inter-personal skills.

Desirable:

  • ELSA accreditation training can be provided if necessary
  • knowledge of/or accreditation in OPAL
  • good understanding of emotional regulation techniques.

  • to support the Primary Lead in establishing and maintaining a safe stimulating and encouraging environment both indoors and outdoors

  • to contribute to the development of new initiatives and ways of working
  • to be a team player and a supportive colleague
  • to develop your mentoring skills in line with innov8 workshops training
  • to contribute in a pro-active and positive manner to the delivery of an effective and efficient service in line with innov8 Workshops ethos and values.
