We have a new opportunity available on an interim basis (12 months) for a Marine Assistant Underwriter to join our National Underwriting Centre in Manchester.

Role Purpose:

This is a key role supporting our Marine business in line with Chubbs ambitious growth plans in our newly developed Commercial Insurance Division. You will support the Marine team in the National Underwriting Centre (NUC) in delivering a high-quality service to underwriters and brokers whilst developing technical and broader business skills in the Insurance Industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the underwriting and processing of new business and renewable Cargo business in line with our underwriting appetite authority limits and business plan.
  • To work in conjunction with the team ensure efficient working practices are in place and adhered to as per established Cargo underwriting guidelines
  • Support the underwriting team through liaison with and participation at meetings with brokers and internal stakeholders
  • Provide assistance to UKI Management for the building running and monitoring of Management Information
  • To meet company standards in respect of policy documentation timeframe for quoting new and renewal business and compliance issues.
  • To work within the framework of the Chubb Code of Conduct Compliance policies Peer Review and within the framework of the protocols established by the Company


Qualifications
  • Ideally a minimum of 1 years experience in the insurance market is required however candidates with a Customer Service background/ or graduate will be considered.
  • You will need to demonstrate a practical and common sense approach to dealing with differing situations and an ability to tackle problems often against tight timeframes
  • Interest in Multinational programs
  • Minimum A level standard.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office.
  • Expected to undertake on the job training. This role may involve working in other Chubb offices.
