Landscaper

San Antonio Christian School is seeking a dependable skilled and mission-aligned Landscaper to support the stewardship and beautification of our 71-acre campus. This individual will maintain the grounds in a way that reflects excellence and creates a welcoming environment for students staff families and visitors. The ideal candidate takes the initiative; values hard work and understands the importance of campus presentation. SACS is a non-denominational covenant Christian school with small class sizes and quality academics coupled with a wide range of art and athletic opportunities which provide students with a Christ-centered education while fostering a life of faith and service.

The Landscaper focuses on the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding SACS. The main objective is to perform a variety of work in the beautification of the grounds.

This person shall be spiritually mature and shall instill a life of Faith Character and Academic Excellence in those around them adhering to SACS Heart of a Lion Core Values.

JOB DUTIES COMPETENCIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Landscape Maintenance

• Mow edge trim fertilize and water all lawn areas.
• Plant prune and care for trees shrubs flowers and other vegetation.
• Apply mulch and maintain flowerbeds and landscaped areas throughout campus.
• Clear debris leaves and litter from walkways sidewalks parking lots and outdoor spaces.
• Maintain irrigation systems and assist with troubleshooting or repair as needed.
• Operate landscaping equipment including mowers trimmers blowers and hedge cutters.
• Ensure the safe use storage and maintenance of all landscaping tools and machinery.
• Perform seasonal tasks such as raking weeding and pest control.
• Maintain outdoor common areas for cleanliness and appearance.
• Assist with setup and takedown of outdoor school events when requested.

Campus Stewardship & Support

• Report hazards or maintenance concerns to the Facilities Manager promptly.
• Assist with campus maintenance and janitorial projects and staff to meet daily needs.
• Support other school-related duties (e.g. moving equipment clearing storm debris).
• Serve with a positive attitude recognizing the role of physical space in shaping student experience and school culture.

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in landscaping groundskeeping or a related trade preferred.
• Able to handle multiple projects independently and collaboratively.
• Must be physically capable of handling outdoor labor in all weather conditions.
• Knowledge of landscaping equipment and safety procedures.
• Strong work ethic.
• Acknowledge Christ as Lord and Savior and be an active member of a local evangelical church that aligns with the schools essential beliefs Nicene Creed and statement of faith.
• Must pass a criminal background check and have reliable transportation.
