Investigational Drug Services Pharmacist - Oncology

The Investigational Drug Services Pharmacist - Oncology performs responsibilities that support both clinical investigational drug trials and oncology infusion pharmacy operations. Duties include coordinating and overseeing investigational drug services supporting infusion pharmacy workflows as needed maintaining regulatory compliance providing education and communication support ensuring safe and efficient dispensing of medications and supervising pharmacy staff involved in both investigational and clinical services. This pharmacist plays a key role in ensuring the Cayuga Cancer Center Pharmacy meets all legal accreditation and policy requirements.

Required Skills and Experience:
Education - Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with either a BS pharmacy or PharmD required.
Experience - PGY1/PGY2 pharmacy residency preferably in Oncology or Investigational Drug service and/or Board of Pharmacy Specialty certification in any one of the following is required: Oncology Ambulatory Care Critical Care or Pharmacotherapy.
Licensure - Currently licensed in the State of New York.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Three years health system experience or at least one year of Oncology Infusion Pharmacy experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g. use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs.) including boxes equipment unit-dose cassettes and IV solutions and stooping and kneeling (e.g. to pick up items from the floor to remove and replace items on lower shelves and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting walking or standing for long periods of time (4-8 hours) is often necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.
