SUMMARY OF POSITION
Responsible for scheduling and directing all assigned company resources to ship store and receive materials efficiently and effectively across multiple sites (Middletown Dayton Good Warehouse and 3400 Yankee Road).
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Plans and coordinates daily shipments to meet customer expectations by working closely with the Production and Planning departments to assure product is available for shipment.
- Reports finished goods shortages to Production Manager and Planner.
- Organizes daily shipments between all shipping warehouses.
- Assures package integrity including container condition labeling stenciling etc. Reviews all documentation and labeling for correctness prior to shipment.
- Allocates warehouse storage area to insure the most economical use of space.
- Responsible for finished goods FIFO inventory control.
- Ensures compliance to all D.O.T. regulatory requirements and controls on-site traffic to maximize safety.
- Coordinates all LTL TL and export container shipments using assigned carriers.
- Responsible for the receipt quarantine and sampling of received raw materials.
- Communicates and helps expedite container transfers including totes drums pails and others.
- Effectively manages the return of finished goods (RMA) process.
- Leadership and management of the shipping team; goal setting appraisals and motivation of employees. Retention of talent.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Key Education or Certification Required
Education Experience & Skills:
- B.S. Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- HS/GED required or minimum of 5 years industrial experience.
- Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
- Background in ISO-9000.
- High level of initiative and responsibility.
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Lean and or six sigma training.
Work Environment
Works in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The associate is exposed to moving mechanical parts risk of electrical shock and trip and slip hazards. The noise level in the manufacturing environment is loud.
Physical Demands
Will be required to perform these functions:
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
- May be required to stand for long periods and walk great distances daily.
- Routinely required to use hands to finger handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- May be required to sit climb balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl and talk or hear.
- May be required to work in small spaces and high locations.
- Frequent travel to multiple sites.
