Payroll Manager - Hybrid - Loveland CO SAFEbuilt is in search of a Payroll Administrator to join their team in Loveland CO. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for administrating bi-weekly processing of payroll for company pay group(s) in conjunction with Payroll Administrators provide inquiry research and resolution of any payroll discrepancies and process related reconciliations of the bi-weekly payroll. This position functions with a Payroll Team of 3 and reports to the Payroll Director. Primary Duties and Responsibilities - Supervise Payroll Administrators approving their weekly timesheets and time off requests in addition to pcard expenses on company credit card platform.
- Provide bi-weekly 1 on 1 meetings with direct reports to facilitate and assist in the development of PR Administrators and provide training as needed.
- Conduct annual performance reviews of Payroll Administrators in conjunction with setting SMART Goals and performance objectives.
- Maintain payroll information by collecting calculating and entering data.
- Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping confidential information.
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll in Ultimate Software for Company Pay Groups and assist PR Administrators to resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Collect and upload timekeeping information for select Pay Group employees weekly and verify accuracy of data.
- Collect and assist PR Administrators with bi-weekly employee Travel & Expense reimbursements for inclusion in payroll and assist to resolve discrepancies.
- Process and assist PR Administrators with Employee Garnishments for Employer Response attach to employee deductions in Payroll system and determine liability for payroll deduction.
- Review EE payroll record updates for accuracy as updated by HR for employee changes in status earnings exemptions Allowance Pay and job title and department/division transfers.
- Calculate Termination PTO Payouts; prepare Manual paychecks when necessary and assist with conversion to direct ACH when needed.
- Prepare reconciliation for each payroll submission on HSA and 401k Contribution deductions for validation of vendor funding.
- Provide cross training to PR Administrators on pay group processes and functions for team knowledge and coverage of all pay groups.
- Cross Train on Payroll Register Reconciliations and Monthly Payroll Accrual for purposes of posting PR GL Journal Entries in Accounting software.
- Prepare Monthly GL Lead Sheets on Payroll related GL Accounts for Payroll expenses and liabilities.
- Regularly use spreadsheets Intranet databases word processing software and periodically learn new programs associated with Payroll Timekeeping and accounting systems.
- Work closely with Payroll Director and HR/Benefit Managers to accomplish duties including attending monthly HR/PR Team meetings.
- Prepare and submit Payroll and accounting reports with payroll information to PR Director as needed.
- Assist in the development of reports for management or regulatory bodies.
- Assist in the identification and implementation of new payroll processes.
- Participate in preparation for the annual audit and assist to provide audit documentation.
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with staff other departments and management.
- Interact with a wide variety of people with tact courtesy and professionalism.
- Speak clearly both in person and by telephone using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
- Write/communicate effectively and understand written communications including but not limited to email.
- Maintains sensitive information and employee confidentiality to protect payroll integrity and employee personal information.
- Maintain a regular dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
- May be required to work non-traditional hours as needed.
- May be asked to attend and/or travel for bi-annual Finance Meetings.
- May be required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working hours.
Education/Experience - Bachelors Degree preferred but not required.
- Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 1-3 years of relevant professional work experience.
- FPP or CPP credentials a plus.
- Well-organized with ability to prioritize.
- High level of precision and diligent in managing details.
- Familiarity with UKG Pro and Sage Intacct systems a plus.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems (multiple platforms a plus).
- Computer proficiency within a Microsoft Office environment required as is essential to the ability to successfully learn and subsequently maneuver within internal business applications.
SALARY: $69000 - $73000
