Job Description
Just-Evotec is seeking a motivated and creative scientist or engineer who desires a significant opportunity to improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics. As a downstream process design scientist/engineer you will join a fast-paced collaborative and multidisciplinary team to develop purification processes for low-cost mammalian derived antibody biotherapeutic manufacturing. Process design at Just-Evotec means exposure to innovative technologies like high throughput automated robotic screening and continuous processing technologies for a first-of-its-kind flexible and reconfigurable manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will have experience in chromatography and filtration theory and operations. Experience with high throughput chromatography screening chromatography mechanistic modeling multicolumn chromatography late stage characterization and manufacturing deviation support is a plus. The ideal candidate has strong written and verbal communications skills works well independently and in teams and continually looks for ways to improve processes and technology.
This is a hybrid positionand is expected to be 70-80% onsite at the Just-Evotec location in Redmond WA.
Responsibilities:
Work on a team to develop purification processes for biotherapeutics manufacturing
Support the transfer processes to manufacturing facilities
Technology development to expand platform capabilities reduce cost and improve the efficiency of purification processes
Position Requirements:
BS or MS degree in Engineering Biochemistry or related field and 2-5 years of laboratory experience
Knowledgeable in chromatography NFF and TFF filtration theory downstream development buffer compounding and scale-up principals
Excellent experimental design and analysis skills
Experience with Microsoft Office apps (Word PowerPoint Excel)
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience executing chromatography operations including using AKTA systems and Unicorn software
Experience executing filtration operation including bench-scale depth filtration viral filtration UF/DF and single pass TFF operations
Experience with design of experiments (DOE) and analysis using statistical software packages (JMP MATLAB etc.)
Experience with automation method development and operation using TCAN and high throughput chromatography resin screening
Experience with: Multi column chromatography continuous downstream purificationand process modeling
Experience with late stage process characterization and manufacturing deviation support
The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $83000 to $87000;Base salary offered may vary depending on individuals skills experience and competitive market value.
