LILLOOET TRIBAL COUNCIL
Event Coordinator (Contract)
Position Overview


The Lillooet Tribal council (LTC) is seeking a qualified individual to coordinate our 50th Anniversary event
in May 2026. LTC will celebrate major milestone - our 50th anniversary of serving our membercommunities. In addition to commemorating this anniversary with a series of events leading up to the
occasion May 28 will be a full-day event that invites the broader community to celebrate with familyfocused activities such as speakers entertainment a barbeque kids activities etc. Consequently the
LTC Event Coordinator is responsible for planning organizing and executing a range of commemorative
events that celebrate LTCs rich history while also showcasing our vision for the future.
This is a up to one-year contract position that reports to the LTC Office Manager and collaborates with
the LTC Department Managers and Communication Coordinator to design brand promote and deliver
a series of successful and memorable events.


Key Responsibilities
Attend monthly meetings and collaborate with LTC Events Committee to design plan and
organize events from start to finish including defining event objectives developing concepts
Monitor event budgets track expenses and ensure all costs remain within allocated limits.
Research select and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure high-quality services at the
best value
Engage LTC member-communities in the design and panning of commemorative events.
Collaborate with the Communications Coordinator to develop and implement marketing
strategies to promote events including creating event materials and utilizing social media.
Create compelling event materials promotional content and commemorative items
Oversee on-site event management ensuring smooth execution and resolving issues in real time
Conduct post-event evaluations collect feedback and prepare reports to assess event success
and inform future improvements.


Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience as an event coordinator or in a similar role
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize
effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities
Proficiency in budget management and basic financial reporting.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team demonstrating leadership when required.
Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability in fast-paced environments.

Familiarity with marketing and promotional strategies including social media.
Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License a reliable vehicle and satisfactory drivers abstract.

High level of professionalism creativity and enthusiasm for event planning.
Work Conditions
Must be able to work flexible hours including some evenings as required by event schedules


Contract Details
This is a contract hybrid work position with hours varying at approximately 10-15hrs per/week
The hourly rate is anticipated to be $25-35 (based on experience).
Expected Start date: June 23rd 2025/End date: May 29 2026
