Central Services Support Technician I (Insurance Claims)

POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision performs clerical and data entry tasks that assist in the processing of WC Liability and Subrogation claims. This position requires considerable team interaction and collaboration. Moderate interaction with the claims team clients management and other TRISTAR staff in the office and within the organization is also expected. This is a full-time in-office position located in our Chicago office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position may perform some or all of the duties listed below:

  • Set up new Workers Comp claims. *
  • Set up new Liability claims *
  • Set up new Subrogation claims *
  • Inspect each intake to ensure all documentation is present and correct *
  • Follow all written procedures and guidelines as provided *
  • High precision in both quality and accuracy of data entry *
  • Promptly escalate claim intakes that require supervisor attention
  • Meets daily claim-filing expectations *
  • Performs additional job tasks in a timely manner
  • May print and reconcile checks as needed for all branch offices
  • Prepares weighs and meters outgoing mail
  • Other duties as assigned

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT OR CLOTHING: Appropriate office attire.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Teams/Outlook and other CRM tools
  • Ability to follow written and spoken instructions from the supervisor and other staff members
  • Ability to produce accurate and detailed work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify when to escalate issues that require supervisor attention
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and organizational skills
  • Ability to react positively to shifting priorities for multiple projects simultaneously and to perform under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to alphabetize and collate
