Job Description

The Pittsfield Public School District is seeking applicants for the position of academic caseworker. The successful candidate will help students who have fallen behind in association with a mental health disruption make rapid progress toward completing the school year and staying on track to is a one-year grant-funded position. Duties include:-Develops/implements the academic component of the overall case management plan for each student in BRYT (Bridge for Resilient Youth in Transition)-Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs interests and abilities of students-Develops and maintains a work tracking and academic data management system in BRYT-Proactively communicates with teachers and administrators regarding the progress of BRYT students-Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students-Leads small group and 1:1 tutoring sessions with BRYT students-Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports-Monitors progress of students who have transitioned out of the program-Attends meetings as required-Participates in staff development programs
