The Tri-County Regional Centre for Education (TCRCE) encompasses the three (3) Counties of Shelburne Yarmouth and Digby serving approximately 6100 students in twenty-two (22) schools composed of 13Elementary Schools 6 High Schools 1 Middle School and 2 Elementary/High Schools.

ALTERNATIVE SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

As a minimum requirement successful candidates will have an academic qualification of a bachelors degree or is in the fourth year of a five-year integrated Bachelor of Education program or is enrolled in a two-year Bachelor of Education program.
Upon completion of receiving a permit to teach successful candidates will be substitute teachers on an on-call basis for Tri-County Regional Centre for Education Schools located in Digby Shelburne & Yarmouth Counties.
Bachelors Degree in Math Science English French Business Arts or related field;
Qualify for a Permit to Teach;
Experience working with children is an asset;
Proven ability to communicate and work alongside diverse cultural and racial backgrounds;
Characteristics
Have excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills;
Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team;
Demonstrated ability to value the voice and contribution of others while remaining open to corrective criticism;
Have the ability to maintain confidentiality in all issues related to student parents and school.
Follow a substitute teaching plan as provided by the School;
Promote and facilitate positive interactions among all students;
Model appropriate problem solving and conflict resolution;
Communicate effectively with School Administration teachers school personnel and students;
Abide by regional policies;
Respect privacy and confidentiality.
