Idaho Power located in vibrant Boise Idaho is looking for a Station Control Technician Apprentice or Journeyman to join our Substation Construction team. Its an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. What does a Station Control Technician Apprentice or Journeyman do for us
They install commission and troubleshoot substation and power plant control systems including system monitoring equipment Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Sequence of Events Recorder (SER) Digital Fault Recorder (DFR) Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) Remedial Action Schemes (RAS) Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and protective relay control and communication systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position performs manual dexterity tasks and repetitive gripping (up to 80 lbs. force) in utilizing hand tools on a frequent basis to assemble electrical components and control panels. Lifting of up to 110 lbs. and pushing/pulling up to 60 lbs. is required occasionally. Sustained postures are required with crouching kneeling bending/stooping twisting and reaching to access areas of control panels. Job placement is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical evaluation for the DOT medical certificate. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position. This job may require the performance of additional tasks assigned by company leaders or management. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
If hired at the Apprentice level you will immediately be enrolled in the Stations Technician Apprenticeship Program. Additional job and safety-related training may be required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position is a member of the Stations Construction department and may be assigned to work in an electrical shop on a control wiring crew structural crew mobile apparatus crew or combo crew that does both control wiring and structural work in substations. The crew this position is assigned to may change at any time depending on business need.
This position requires extensive travel across Idaho Powers service area. The work schedule for this position may change week to week. Typical work schedule includes working four 10-hour days each week or working and eight 10-hour days working back-to-back weeks. Each workday may require be an out-of-town overnight stay. This position requires the ability to work overtime and weekends for emergencies or when business need requires. Apprentices and Technicians work in various conditions including confined spaces heights of over 80 feet and inclement weather. Must abide by Idaho Power Companys safety rules and regulations. Complete required Idaho Power Company and safety training.
