Job Description
PIPTO (Product Integration and Planning Tools) team owns the full-service tools suite for Devices demand planning and serves as a key tech enabler for Devices leadership meetings. We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer II to drive innovation in BI tools and reporting systems with a focus on scalability automation. This role involves solving complex business problems navigating ambiguity and enabling data-driven decision-making across the Devices organization including support for cross-org fitness function metrics.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop scalable automated processes for large-scale data analysis along with innovative BI tools and reporting systems to solve complex business problems.
- Provide technical guidance and support to stakeholders for leveraging data visualization and analytics in decision-making particularly for XPL engagement metrics across the Devices organization. Lead end-to-end project components including data gathering analysis problem-solving and communication of recommendations.
- Partner with stakeholders and engineering teams to prioritize define and standardize data metrics while ensuring data accuracy and governance compliance.
- Implement data governance best practices to ensure data accuracy consistency and compliance with security and privacy regulations.
- Establish and implement best practices for BI development and operations to enhance team efficiency while mentoring junior members to foster growth and adoption of BI standards.

PIPTO is a centralized team within the Devices Inventory Optimization org that provides a cohesive approach to support different initiatives within Devices. We envision becoming the cornerstone of data-driven decision-making empowering the organization with innovative scalable and intuitive BI solutions
- 10 years of professional or military experience
- 5 years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval data science machine learning and data mining
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
