Veeco continues to grow and is looking for a Software Engineer to support our Software Engineering team in our Plainview NY location. If you have a passion for programming particularly with tool/motion control robotics simulation; this may be the technical team you want to be part of!
Responsibilities:
- Write and support C software by coding debugging and testing application software. C# and/or VB knowledge a plus.
- Trace and modify existing code.
- Troubleshoot complex issues on industrial systems.
- Provide engineering level software support.
- Implement intuitive user interfaces based on user feedback.
- Identify and use other 3rd party software components as appropriate.
- Work with testers developers and operations to help reproduce and solve field and internal issues in the application network and environment.
- Work in an Agile/SCRUM environment using supporting tools.
- Must be able to travel 10% domestically and internationally (when feasible).
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of work experience or an advanced degree in a related field is required. Experience with C is a must.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding of C# and/or VB is a plus
- Familiarity with modern software development practices (e.g. version control issue tracking code review agile practices)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong commitment to quality design and detail oriented
- Experience developing software for Semiconductor or equivalent manufacturing equipment preferred
The expected salary range for this position is $101946-$129132 plus a bonus opportunity.
