The Fire Department City of New York (FDNY) seeks a full-time Uniform Payroll Assistant in the Bureau of Bureau of Payroll/Timekeeping & Compliance Services. Reporting directly to the Uniform Payroll Manager the successful candidate will:
Assist in the preparation and distribution of the bi-weekly payroll W2 and 1127 tax documents monthly pay inserts for more than 11000 Uniformed employees. Analyze RMDS reports in the preparation and reconciliation of payroll for over $60 million on a bi-weekly basis. Responsible for the preparation of the paycheck report & mailing/refunding of payroll checks maintenance of the paycheck tracking system. Review the 319 payroll reports against commissioner/regular checks for accuracy. Review 160 report & process all adjustments identify overpayments for recoupment. Analyze data for the calculation and adjustment of TICS for members with prior City service. Generate CHRMS & NYCAPS reports in preparation for advancement in grade additions to gross as well as Longevity & Incremental advances in salary maturations. Responsible for computing final payment from payroll as well as leave balance payments (Including Terminal Leave) for employees separated by suspension retirement termination resignation &/or leave of absence. Processing military leave actions direct deposit savings bonds college savings transit check W4/IT-2104 withholding forms LODI W2 corrections & CFR-D deductions. Respond to all telephone and walk-in inquiries as received.
Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and departmental regulations. Perform other payroll-related duties as directed. Must have hands-on working knowledge of PMS RMDS CHRMS NYCAPS ESTUBS ESS & PI.

Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a States department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
