Job Description

The Human Resources Recruiting Intern is responsible for assisting the Recruiting Manager (RM) and HR Recruiters in supporting the HR recruiting program policies and initiatives for the U.S. Liebherr companies and operating divisions.

*This is an onsite internship in Newport News VA. Only local candidates will be considered for this position.*

*It is preferred that candidates be available for at least 6 months and up to 12 months.*

Responsibilities

Staffing:

  • Identify source and screen qualified candidates via social media such as LinkedIn Indeed and other platforms for all types of positions.
  • Gain the understanding of hiring needs building talent pipelines for diverse talent cultivating relationships with key candidates and specific talent pools and turning passive candidates into active ones.
  • Leverage professional networks to source candidates for active requisitions.
  • Use social media to promote employment brand messaging to drive traffic to open roles by establishing and promoting positive relationships.
  • Track day to day sourcing activity in applicant tracking and candidate relationship management systems.

Recruiter Marketing:

  • Create brand awareness and promote the value of working for the U.S. companies.
  • Engage potential candidates through social media.
  • Participate in recruiting events.
  • Work closely with the recruiting team to support the U.S. companies recruiting strategy.
  • Assist with tracking measuring and reporting on recruiting efforts.

Competencies

  • Education and Experience: Currently enrolled in a four year degree program at a rising junior or senior level with good academic standing in the field of Human Resources or related field of study.
  • Academic knowledge of employment law and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of people within the company and externally.
  • Strong organizational and attention to detail skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and handle sensitive confidential information.
  • Proficient in PC based word processing spreadsheets and MS Office as well as internet based programs and social media.
  • Ability to work individually and/or as a team member.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence and the ability to present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers.
  • Travel domestically up to 5% of the time.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver license.
