Job Description

What you will bring:
Technical and Industry Experience:

  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication organization and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of the fundamental requirements of environmental science engineering and the basic requirements of environmental field work.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word Excel and PowerPoint) required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Willing to self-relocate to the designated Worley office location.
  • Class 5 drivers license.

Education Qualifications Accreditation Training:

Required:

  • Recognized BSc MSc or Diploma degree in Environmental Science Engineering Geology or related field from an accredited university or college.
  • May have Internship experience with environmental science or engineering firm or setting.

Purpose:

As part of the Worley Graduate Community and under supervision and mentorship within the Liability Management & Restoration (LM&R) department you will support and assist Project Managers in all aspects of project execution including coordination environmental monitoring water and soil sampling of remediation and decommissioning sites.

This is a full-time position based in the designated Worley Calgary office.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform up to 80% various types of fieldwork including but not limited to surface water/groundwater monitoring and sampling soil sampling drilling test pitting remedial excavations detailed site assessments (DSA) and reclamation.
  • Logging texturing soils and operating various types of environmental related field equipment.
  • Collection of accurate field data using best practices and following standard operating procedures.
  • Support and assist Project Managers in all aspects of project execution including coordination and procurement of project supplies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to contribute to the design implementation and evaluation of environmental solutions.
  • Preparation and execution of technical reports.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations safety standards and company policies in all project activities.
  • Participate in fieldwork including site inspections sampling and monitoring under the supervision of senior personnel.
  • Keen safety awareness.
  • Travel as required for various field programs.
