Job Description

The Faculty of Education and StFX Online invites applications for a Part-time Academic Instructor as part of the off-campus Certificate in Outdoor Education for the following course:

Course Number and Title: EDUC 405I - Teaching Navigation and Orienteering in Public Schools

Course Description:

This course is designed to provide teachers with the skills and strategies for

teaching basic and advanced elements of navigation GPS and orienteering as

part of their curriculum for public school teaching. In addition to the course hours

devoted to development of lessons and assessment skills additional study will also

be completed in general and specific inquiry-based methodologies related to the

teaching of the curricular topics to meet P-12 learning expectations. Three credits.

Start and End Dates: September 15 2025 - October 5 2025 (subject to final budgetary approval)

Class Schedule: TBD

Delivery Mode: In-person/Online

Qualifications

Candidates should have a PhD or MEd with significant teaching experience in the course area as well as public school teaching experience.
