Job Description

Position Title: Data Processor Specialist

Department: NMU Foundation

Term of Assignment:Continuing

Term End Date If Applicable:

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt overtime eligible

Work Schedule: Traditionally Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Salary: $15.55

Travel: No travel

Brief Statement of Duties

Brief Statement of Duties:Serve as the lead in maintaining the Advancement database through updating and creating Advancement and major gift prospect records. Train Advancement staff on the use of the database and electronic imaging system. Assist with running standardized reports for Advancement staff. Work independently with campus staff to verify and resolve duplicate records. Conduct calls with alumni/donors/prospects as directed to verify record information. Work with highly sensitive and confidential information.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education: High School Graduation or Equivalent

Discipline/Degree Area:

Required Specialized Training/Certifications:

Required Minimum Work Experience: Three years of progressive office experience e.g. processing records and information data input and/or maintaining department data base information or an Associates Degree or two years coursework leading to a Bachelors Degree.

Knowledge Skills Abilities or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:

Proficient with administrative and clerical procedures including word processing spreadsheets e-mail internet and web-based applications.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Customer service skills including assessing customer needs and responding in a constructive manner.
Excellent verbal and written communication and comprehension skills.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidential donor and prospect information.
Ability to conduct research in an ethical manner.
Ability to accurately and efficiently enter large amounts of data into a database.
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
Ability to work independently.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

Knowledge of University computer programs and systems.
Knowledge of database maintenance reporting and quality control measures.
Ability to appraise the quality of data from varied sources.
Ability to re-prioritize high-level workload on a daily basis.
