St. Ambrose University in Davenport Iowa (SAU) invites qualified candidates to apply for a full-time 12-month faculty position in the Universitys Doctor of Occupational Therapy program (OTD) as a lecturerin support of SAUs satellite program on the campus of Loras College in Dubuque Iowa. The contract for this position is renewable annually. The proposed start date for the position is July 1 2025. Candidates will join a well-established department focused on educating ethical innovative and sensitive occupational therapists to serve and support the occupational participation of others. Responsibilities for this position include teaching a variety of OTD courses with specific teaching responsibilities focused on the faculty members area of clinical experience. This position will provide both face-to-face and online instruction primarily at the Loras College lab in Dubuque Iowa with periodic travel to Davenport Iowa (a distance of approximately 70 miles). Additional responsibilities associated with this position include advising students participating in department curriculum planning the assessment of student learning the evaluation of the OTD program and service to the university (e.g. serving on various faculty and / or university committees).
Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in occupational therapy (or closely related field) and be eligible for licensure in the state of Iowa as an occupational therapist. Competitive candidates will have successful experience in hybrid learning and teaching and / or a passion and enthusiasm for leveraging technology and new learning modalities in support of student growth and success.
The Occupational Therapy Department is one of seven health science programs housed in the universitys College of Health and Human Services. Multiple interprofessional learning events and numerous outreach services enhance the experience of students faculty and staff in the College and promote a culture of teamwork and advocacy for health and wellness in the Quad Cities and beyond.
